Jeff Hurd
Hey, I’m Jeff! My journey behind the lens started way back at 14, when I first discovered I could take pictures with an old Sony Handycam. From that moment, I was all in. My first DSLR opened up a whole new world, and in my teens, I was lucky enough to be photographing concerts like Riot Fest and Warped Tour for online publications and even the local newspaper.
These days, thanks to my amazing wife’s support, I’m shooting for various publications, directly for artists, and on my own personal projects. There’s a special kind of magic in capturing the energy of a live show, and concerts are still my absolute favorite. Gear-wise, I rely on a pair of Canon R6mk2 bodies, an RF 24-70 f2.8, EF 70-200 F2.8 usm ii, RF 50mm f1.2, and EF 85mm F1.2, and I edit all my work using Capture One.
Some personal highlights include shooting All Your Friends Fest, Tyler Hubbard, Mayday Parade, Lights, and Jinjer. But whether it’s a huge festival or a smaller local band here in Toronto, I just love being able to capture those unique moments.
